5 Cost-Effective Fundraising Ideas For Your Next School Fundraiser
Pressure on schools and PTAs is increasing, becoming ever more relied upon to fill the funding gaps.
It is important to be able to run fun and exciting events, but ensure they are as cost-effective as possible to maximise the funds raised.
Never fear! There are lots of amazing cost-effective fundraisers you can do to maximise your fundraising, including:
-
Quiz night at the school hall
Why not make the most of the school hall after hours? Hosting a quiz night is a great way to raise money with very little upfront costs.
Charge families an entry fee for every team, have a drink (alcoholic or not, your choice) and concessions stand to add to the funds.
You can even get your pupils involved by asking them to write a round of questions of their choosing.
-
School car boot sale
This is another great way to raise money for the school outside of school hours. Invite parents, families and teachers to host a stand (for a small fee perhaps) so they can sell some of their old and unwanted things sitting in their attics/ garages. And then split the proceeds 50/50!
-
Movie night at the school
Hosting a movie night is another great way to boost funds in a cost effective way. Make use of the schools projector (or you can invest in a cheap one from amazon) to broadcast a range of family favourites to rom coms and action nights just for parents to enjoy! Charge for entry and have a concession stand available, stocked with movie snack favourites.
It is worth noting that you may need a license to show films, so it is worth double checking!
-
Unique gifts designed by pupils
Why not engage your pupils’ creativity by getting them to create some amazing original artwork that can then be turned into unique and personalised gifts for any occasion.
My Art Project’s school fundraising projects are completely cost-effective for schools. We not only deliver the art templates to you for free, but your finished gifts as well. Hosting projects for a range of key events throughout the year, including Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Leavers and Christmas, it is the perfect way to boost your funds (and sort out presents for the year).
-
Sporting events
Make the most of the summer sunshine (hopefully) by hosting a summer sporting event for everyone to get involved in! Why not host a school fun run around the school site or even the local community (with all safety regulations in place obviously) or host a sporting challenge on the school fields. You can charge people for entry and they can be sponsored by others to add to the donations.
